Ons land werd al vaker genomineerd, maar vanaf de 21ste eeuw kwam er een Vlaamse golf opzetten die onze filmindustrie voor eens en altijd op de kaart zette. Ook dit jaar had ons land kans op een beeldje met maar liefst 2 nominaties: de documentaire Soundtrack to a Coup d\u2019\u00c9tat van Johan Grimonprez en ook de stop motion kortfilm Beautiful Men van Nicolas Keppens. Zij konden helaas geen prijs in de wacht slepen. Wat betekent een Oscarnominatie voor de Vlaamse filmindustrie? En in het geval van kortfilm \u2018Beautiful Men\u2019, hoe kan dit de toekomst van de animatiesector positief be\u00efnvloeden?
